JCS Fish recently took delivery of six new branded anti-slip mats made with Econyl® – a nylon yarn made from 100% recycled plastics, including discarded fishing nets.
Our Quality Manager Ann and QA Assistant, Steven, recently attended an event in Leeds to celebrate this success. Ann penned a quick blog for us about the event.
“This was a really interesting event and a chance to get together with other Investors in the Environment (IiE) award winners and discuss our environmental challenges and successes. We also met green campaigner, Tony Juniper CBE. His lively and informative presentation underlined the global challenges in relation to population, economies, energy sourcing and use over the last two decades, reminding us all how urgent it is that we continue to change and improve the way we live and work to support a sustainable environment.
“Of course, Grimsby is now the UK’s ‘Renewable Energy Capital’ and it is great that two local businesses, ourselves and Freshney Place, are doing our bit through the IiE scheme to contribute to our town’s green credentials.
Thanks to the IiE team for an informative afternoon and all the ideas it generated. We look forward to putting some of them into action in our own business as we continue to work on our environmental status and improve our Investors in the Environment status.”
