At JCS Fish we're committed to minimising our environmental impact, such as by cutting our use of energy and materials and optimising every part of every salmon we buy. We do not send waste to landfill. Our internal 'Eco Group' drives a continuous programme to review our impacts and drive improvement.

To help our business grow in an environmentally responsible way, we have been part of the Investors in the Environment (iiE) scheme since 2015. Our commitment to iiE means we are independently audited each year and it helps us keep up with the fast-moving landscape of environmental technology.

As a food business, our packaging agenda is a key part of our environmental planning.  Our aims are to both minimise the amount of packaging we create and maximise the recyclability of materials we do use.  For instance, we recently moved to entirely recyclable cardboard packs for our BigFish fish cake range and are now working to eliminate non-recyclable plastic from the rest of the range by 2020.

  • “Big or small, all businesses need to take responsibility for their environmental impact. That's why 'think green' has become an important part of all our workstreams. ”

Commercial Manager and Eco Group leader
